ABOUT VALOIS FEST

VALOIS FEST is an International Festival of Performing and Visual Arts aimed at building cooperation between companies and institutions in the field of Theatre, Music, Choreography, Design and Fine Arts.

The Festival is a platform for building cultural and business cooperation between specialists and companies from different countries. Theatres, music and dance companies, cultural centres, associations, foundations, academies, galleries, studios, clubs, other companies and institutions participate in the Festival. The VALOIS FEST project also involves companies providing equipment, costumes, accessories, other supplies and services in the field of Performing and Visual Arts. At the Festival events you can find new friends, partners, patrons and sponsors.

VALOIS FEST includes a Contest for Young Dancers (ON-LINE). Young dancers, students of choreographic academies, schools, studios and other institutions are invited to participate in VALOIS FEST.

In the Visual Arts sector, VALOIS FEST organizes exhibitions with the participation of designers, artists, companies and institutions providing equipment, costumes, accessories, other supplies and services in the field of Performing and Visual Arts. 

In 2023, the festival was dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Ninette de Valois, an outstanding dancer, teacher, theatre director, and cult figure of world choreography. Most notably, she danced professionally with Serge Diaghilev's Ballets Russes, later founding the Royal Ballet, one of the leading ballet companies of the 20th century. She also founded the Royal Ballet School and the touring company that became the Birmingham Royal Ballet. In 1947, Ninette de Valois founded the first ballet school in Turkey, which is now part of the State Conservatory of Music and Drama in Ankara. She also took part in the formation of the national ballets of Canada, Australia and Iran.
